If you're looking to get out and explore in one of the easiest and freeing methods of traveling, Eddie could be perfect for you. Eddie comes equipped with all of the essentials that you will need to enjoy an entire trip for two!
Eddie is professionally built by us here at Safe + Sonder Vans. If you've been eager to get into an S + S Van, Eddie will be a great opportunity to rent! He is powered by Goal Zero, has three ways of charging (solar, shore, and alternator) so you will never have to worry about running out of power along the way. His natural wood tones and dimmable lights keep you feeling comfy and cozy at night. Eddie is a big pet lover and allows up to two dogs OR one cat per rental. With the dedicated pet nook (w/ locking gate), you can feel at ease knowing that your fur babies will be safe and comfortable.
Eddie is spacious, comes with a swivel table and passenger seat for easy dining. He comes with a cassette toilet, but can have a Trelino toilet as an add on. See our list of add-ons to see what else could make your trip even more memorable!
With thorough cleaning and sanitizing between each rental, you can be sure that you will be starting your trip off exactly how you should: clean, stocked, packed, and ready to hit the road! Don't forget a bed for your pets as that is not included.

We ask and expect you to follow the rules of our van at all times. Not only is this a van that we are happy to offer for you and many others to enjoy, but we also use this van for our own personal trips and experiences.
NO Smoking of ANY kind
Absolutely, no smoking of any kind. Cigarettes, marijuana, vaping, e-cigarettes, etc. None of it. Don’t do it.
NO extra guests
Our fees only accommodate 2-3 people. Please respect the space and capacity.
NO Music Festivals/Concerts
In an effort to keep our rig safe, clean, and respected, please do not take this van to any music festivals or concerts.
Wear your seatbelt when driving
All passengers must be belted while the vehicle is in motion. We are not responsible for any injuries that occur from renter negligence.
NO speeding
Obey all traffic signs and speeds at ALL times. You are driving property that is not yours with a plate that is not yours, respect that. You will be responsible for any and all tickets/citations.
NO illegal substances or underage use of legal substances
Absolutely no illegal substances, underage use of any legal substances.
NO getting onto the roof
This roof is not meant for lounging and there should be no roof access or attempts.
Be respectful of what you cook
We all know that some food can have a strong and lingering smell long after it is cooked. Out of respect for the next renters and hosts, please cook all strong smelling food outside of the rig during your stay. For Example: Bacon, Fish, Sauerkraut, etc.
Be respectful of the space
This space is special. We expect you to take care of the build and maintain a clean, damage free stay. Clean up after yourself and your pets, wipe up any spills immediately, and do your best to keep the space tidy.
NO electric heaters/air conditioners
These can be very dangerous and power consuming for a Campervan. If you need heat, it is best to use our built in heater and if you need to cool down, it is best to get a good airflow and park in the shade if possible.

Eddie is pet friendly up to two dogs or either 1 cat! We have a fee of $50 for 1 dog, $75 for 2 dogs, and $74 for 1 cat. Please be mindful of the space with your pets. No accidents inside and please be mindful of outdoor temperatures before you decide to leave them behind while you shop/eat.

It can seat 2 and sleep up to 3 (with the add-on of an inflatable Luno bed).

Yep! He has 360 watts of solar and alternator charging, so you are able to re-charge your power system without the power grid.

Drop off time is between 10am-12pm and pick up is between 3pm-5pm. Please do not drop off before 10am and please do not pick up after 5pm. We use the time between for prepping and sanitizing for the next guest.

You will be required to purchase insurance through our third-party insurance with MBA. Our cost is $45 per day with the options of adding on Roadside Assistance, PAI/PEI, and SLI. You will be required to purchase your insurance within 48 hours after booking. All purchasing steps and processes will be in your confirmation e-mail after booking! Failure to purchase will result in a cancellation of your trip.

No, Eddie cannot go off-road. Please stay on well maintained roads, packed down roads, or paved. Two tracks and roads that are not made for daily use are strictly prohibited. There are plenty of off-grid, enjoyable places to camp that do not require going down a poorly maintained road.

Eddie is a GAS guy! No diesel. No DEF. Just standard 87 gas!

Yes! It is a requirement for you to fill up the gas tank before you drop the van back off. Failure to fill up will cost you additional fees.

Yep! One of the best parts about Vanlife is being able to explore the country with freedom.

No, you cannot. Our insurance does not cover out of the country reservations and the risk for something to go wrong is much too high.

You can park your vehicle at our shop for no additional cost. We have a locked and secure gate with security cameras.

The minimum is 3 nights and the maximum is 14 nights.

You must be 25 years or older to rent Eddie.

You are allowed 200 miles per day and then it will be $.35 per mile after that.

Get to a safe place and call the police. Exchange insurance Information with the 3rd party and take lots of pictures. Once everything has calmed down, please give us a call and explain what happened. We will do our best to help however we can to get you safely back on your trip.

Eddie has built in heat, but not AC. He has vented windows and two roof vents for air circulation. If you need AC, you can add the BedJet cooling system as an add-on.

All reservations can be instantly booked online! 50% of the reservation total is due to secure your dates, with the remaining 50% due 7 days before the trip.

Once your booking is confirmed, you can cancel within 48 hours for a full refund, as long as at least 14 days remain before departure. Otherwise, the cancellation policy is strict.
If you cancel more than 14 days before your trip begins: 50% of the booking total is refundable (you pay 50%)
Cancel 14 or fewer days before your trip begins: 0% of the booking total is refundable (you pay 100%)
The service fee, and the tax you pay on it, are not refundable.

We have a $1,500 security deposit that you will authorize us to charge at pick up. Your credit card will not be charged if Eddie is returned healthy and free of damage!
