What vans do you build in?
We can do a build in any type of van! Ram Promaster and Mercedes Sprinter are the ones we are the most familiar with, but we are open to others like the Ford Transit and even a Chevy Express. If you have a specific van in mind for yourself, contact us to see if it is one we would be able to accommodate!

Do you do custom builds?
Yes! We do custom builds that are within our skillset and wheelhouse. We are open to new ideas and we enjoy making your van represent exactly who you are or what you’re looking for! Fill out our submission form if you’d like to discuss a custom build!

What is your pricing for a custom build?
This is a loaded question that can vary drastically. The price is highly dependent on the layout/design, products installed and the size/type of van. To have an idea of what your build could cost, head over to the Price My Build section to get started!

How do you power your builds?
We include an EcoFlow 5kwh power kit in our standard builds. These are a mix of plug and play and hardwired systems. It allows us to use AC units and other high powered items. If you need more power, they are expandable to incredibly high amounts of power!

What are the pros/cons of having an indoor shower?
Indoor showers are a hot topic in Vanlife. There are pros and cons of nearly everything in a build, but showers are the most discussed.
Pros: Showers when you need, privacy when showering, etc.
Cons: Additional water storage, Heated water aka additional power, takes up more space in the build, etc.

Do you offer financing?
Unfortunately, we do not offer financing specifically at this time. Some customers have had luck with places such as LightStream for their van loans!

What are the pros/cons of a hot water heater?
Pros: hot water at the tap for cooking or cleaning, comfort of home, etc.
Cons: consumes more power, waiting for water to heat up, takes up additional space, etc.

How long does it take to complete a build?
This varies for us. It all depends on the layout, product shipping times, and the extent of the design. A good estimate right now is 10-12 weeks!

Can I buy a van that you're currently building?
Yes! This is a transaction where Safe and Sonder Van Sales buys the van, we complete the build and put the van up for sale. If at any point in the process of building someone would like to claim the van and put a deposit down, that is an option.
